Plan on 30 to 45 minutes on weekdays and one longer weekend session for each practice test. If you start after September 27, keep the order and shorten each week, but never skip the practice tests: they are how you learn the pacing.

How to Spend Each Study Day
One quiz on your weakest section. Five questions, about ten minutes.
Read every explanation you got wrong or guessed. Most ACT misses repeat: a grammar rule you keep missing, a question type in Science, a trap answer in Reading.
Practice pacing. Once a day, do one timed set and check whether you finished with time to spare or ran out.
What to Do the Week of the Test
Take your last full-length practice test early in the week, then switch to light review: one short quiz a day and a second look at the mistakes you logged. Upload your photo before the October 12 deadline if you have not, and confirm your test center and arrival time in your MyACT account. Pack an approved photo ID, your admission ticket and a permitted calculator for the Math section. Go to bed early the night before. On test morning, eat, arrive early, and remember that the ACT rewards steady pacing more than perfection on any single question.
If You Missed the Registration Deadline
If late registration has closed, the next national ACT date is December 12, 2026. Keep the same plan and stretch it: take a practice test now, practice daily on your weakest sections, and add a second and third practice test before December. Six weeks of steady daily practice usually beats three rushed ones, so a later date is not a setback if you use the extra time.
What Counts on the Enhanced ACT
On the Enhanced ACT, your composite score comes from English, Math and Reading. Science is optional and reported separately, so decide early whether the colleges on your list want it. If they do not, spend the three weeks on the three sections that make up the composite.
